Munich (dpa / lby) - In the event that outdoor catering is due to open soon, the Association for the Preservation of Bavarian Tavern Culture (VEBWK) has demanded that negative corona tests be waived there.

"If you want to go to the beer garden in the evening, you have to be able to show a negative test result," said VEBWK managing director Ursula Zimmermann.

"However, this is particularly problematic in rural areas."

Pharmacies often only offer corona tests for a few hours a day and are often fully booked.

Most of the time there are only test centers in the city.

“Anyone who demands mandatory tests must also create the capacities for them.

For organizational reasons, the hosts will certainly not offer any cost-intensive tests.

Especially since the self-tests are often not even accepted ”, criticized the managing director.

“Austria is definitely a pioneer here.

There, too, a negative test is required in many areas, but there are numerous test stations and roads, even in rural areas, available for testing all day long. "

Zimmermann also said: After months of forced closings and numerous mishaps in the disbursement of state aid, the opening of the outdoor areas in the catering trade announced by Prime Minister Markus Söder was "finally a positive sign for this industry, which is so badly affected".
