Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - Eintracht Frankfurt's supervisory board chairman Philip Holzer does not see a sale of top players this summer as absolutely necessary.

"The new investor and the capital measure that I was able to organize from my immediate environment meant that we did not have to sell any players before the start of the season," said Holzer of the "Bild-Zeitung".

This has "more than paid off" in terms of sport.

As fourth, Eintracht is currently heading for its first-time Champions League participation, professionals like André Silva and Filip Kostic should be in demand in the summer.

"And even if we don't qualify for the Champions League this year, we're not forced to sell players," said Holzer.

The Hessians presented the new sports director in Markus Krösche as the successor to Fredi Bobic.

It is still open who will follow coach Adi Hütter, who will join Borussia Mönchengladbach in the 2021/22 season.
