His diagnosis of coronavirus was not confirmed, but the former official complains of poor health - weakness, muscle aches and exacerbation of a neurological disease, Olga Druzhinina, a member of the Moscow Public Monitoring Commission, told RT.

“Abyzov is asking for an appointment with a neurologist, who will be provided to him in the near future,” she said, adding that Abyzov's temperature and other indicators are normal.

According to Druzhinina, Abyzov insists that he could not previously participate in the hearing for health reasons.

“But the employees of the pre-trial detention center were obliged to bring him to the court session - this is a court demand, the detention center cannot fail to fulfill it.

According to objective indicators (PCR test results, temperature, pressure, etc.), Abyzov's physical condition allowed him to participate in the meeting, ”said the human rights activist.

In a conversation with members of the POC, Abyzov said that he needed the help of civilian doctors not from the pre-trial detention center.

"This is possible in the absence of the necessary specialists in the hospital of the remand prison with the permission of the head of the institution, the investigator or the court," the interlocutor of RT explained.

Olga Druzhinina added that Abyzov has no other complaints about the conditions of detention - he is being held in a double cell; ex-governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergey Furgal has become his neighbor in the Matrosskaya Tishina hospital.

Before hospitalization, they were in the same cell in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center.

The POC of the city of Moscow keeps this situation under control, the information presented in the oral appeal was brought about the information of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the city of Moscow and the prosecutor's office.

Earlier, Olga Druzhinina said that Abyzov was diagnosed with pneumonia.

In March, the Moscow City Court extended Abyzov's arrest until June 25.

The ex-minister of the Open Government has been in jail since the end of March 2019 on charges of several economic crimes.

The first criminal case was related to the theft in 2011-2014 of 4 billion rubles from large energy suppliers and their withdrawal abroad.
