On April 29, 2021, the Intermediate People's Court of Changchun City, Jilin Province opened a public hearing in the first instance of the case of Yun Citizen, the former general manager of China Huadian Corporation.
The Changchun City People’s Procuratorate charged: From 1992 to August 2016, the defendant Yun Citizen served as the deputy leader, leader, and secretary of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Ikezhao League, vice chairman of the People’s Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, member of the Standing Committee of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee, and Taiyuan Municipal Party Committee The secretary, deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the former deputy secretary and vice chairman of the party group of Shenhua Group Co., Ltd., and the former general manager and deputy secretary of the party group of China Huadian Group used the convenience of position or the convenience of the formation of power and status. Through the acts of staff in other countries, they provided assistance to relevant units and individuals in terms of business operations, project contracting, and cadre selection and appointment. The illegal receipt of property from the above-mentioned units and individuals amounted to more than RMB 486.66 million.
During the trial, the procuratorate produced relevant evidence. The defendant Yun Citizen and his defender cross-examined the evidence. The prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions under the auspices of the court. Yun Citizen made a final statement and pleaded guilty and repented in court.
Twenty people from National People's Congress, CPPCC members, journalists and people from all walks of life attended the trial.
At the end of the trial, the court announced an adjournment and selected a date for the sentence.
