Berlin / Cologne / Dresden (dpa) - According to Saxon estimates, a nationwide decision on the rights of vaccinated and convalescents is possible before the end of May.

"If it goes earlier, if we agree earlier, then there may be a special Federal Council before May 28," said the representative of the Free State of Saxony at the federal government, Conrad Clemens (CDU), in the RTL / ntv show “Frühstart”.

The vote of the cabinet, Bundestag and Bundesrat will go quickly, but still needs some time.

"We have to discuss this carefully in advance so that in the end the Federal Council does not change anything again."

Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the country leaders discussed on Monday, among other things, regulations for fully vaccinated and recovered people, but as expected there was no decision.

According to a key issues paper of the federal government last weekend, they could get the same exceptions for access to shops and services such as hairdressers that apply to those who tested negatively.

The federal government wants to submit a proposal next week, the Federal Council could then decide on May 28th.

Some federal states such as Bavaria or Hesse have already changed their ordinances as far as possible.
