Russia: Alexeï Navalny's movement announces its self-dissolution

In a video posted on social networks, Leonid Volkov makes a clear statement.
The right-hand man of Alexeï Navalny believes that the pressure exerted by the justice system has become too strong for the 37 offices founded by the opponent to continue to function.
The risk has become too great, he said, as the justice system is preparing to classify the movement as an extremist organization.

It is impossible to continue our work in the current state.
This would immediately lead to criminal convictions for our activists and for those who help them.
And no name change will change anything.
Unfortunately it is impossible to continue, and we have to officially dissolve our network.

Our organization is dead, explains Leonid Volkov, but if they wish the offices can continue to operate independently.
In addition, the “smart voting” program should work as planned for the parliamentary elections.
This system should allow Russian voters to choose the candidate best placed to beat that of the ruling party.
