Chinanews.com, April 29. On the afternoon of April 29, the Ministry of National Defense held a regular press conference. Colonel Wu Qian, director of the Ministry of National Defense Information Bureau and spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense, said that recently, the Chinese Navy’s Liaoning carrier aircraft carrier formation was carried out in the relevant waters. During normal exercises, the USS "Mustine" destroyer continued to conduct close reconnaissance of the Chinese fleet, which seriously interfered with the Chinese exercises and seriously threatened the safety of naval vessels and personnel on both sides. The nature was very bad.

The Chinese navy warned the US ship to leave.

The Ministry of National Defense of China has lodged solemn representations with the US on this.

At the meeting, a reporter asked questions and said that recently, US warships and planes have frequently conducted activities in the sea and airspace around China.

Since April, the destroyer "McCain" sailed through the Taiwan Strait, and the aircraft carrier battle group "Roosevelt" entered the South China Sea.

Recently, the US Navy website released photos of the captain of the destroyer "Mustine" observing the Liaoning ship from a close range, and US soldiers tweeted a video of the Liaoning carrier aircraft taking off and landing.

How does China comment on this?

After making the above statement, Wu Qian also stated that since the current US administration took office, the frequency of US warships' activities in China’s waters has increased by more than 20% over the same period last year, and the frequency of reconnaissance aircraft activities has exceeded 40%.

The US frequently dispatches warships and aircraft to China's surrounding maritime and airspace activities to promote regional militarization and threaten regional peace and stability. China firmly opposes this.

We urge the United States to strictly restrain the front-line forces, abide by the "China-US Sea and Air Encounter Safety Code of Conduct," "International Maritime Collision Avoidance Rules," and other rules to prevent similar dangerous incidents from happening again.
