Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - The direct bank ING enables its employees to work mobile even in post-pandemic times.

In an agreement with the general works council, it was stipulated that in future all employees may also work outside the office “within the framework of operational, legal and regulatory requirements”.

The ING Germany announced on Thursday that the respective teams should determine the exact modalities among themselves.

"The past year has shown us how flexible we are and how well mobile working works", ING Germany boss Nick Jue justified the decision.

"We want to keep that now and support our employees in equipping their home workplaces as best as possible."

In a first step, the employees receive a one-time fee of 1,500 euros net.

The money can be redeemed in an online shop set up by the bank - for example to purchase a height-adjustable desk, an office chair for the home or technical accessories such as a wireless mouse.

Every five years the employer gives a new equipment budget of 1000 euros.

According to the bank, the company agreement applies to the more than 4,500 employees of ING-Diba AG in Frankfurt, Nuremberg and Hanover.
