Hamburg (dpa / lno) - More than 100 dispensers for hand disinfectants, up to 300 Plexiglas panes, countless stop stickers on benches, regular cleaning of all surfaces, and flexible, distant route guidance for airport guests: for these and Further Corona protection and hygiene measures, Hamburg Airport has now been certified by the international airport association Airports Council International (ACI). For the test according to independent criteria, around 100 different points were asked in advance, said the current corona manager at the airport, Stefan Derchow, of the German Press Agency in Hamburg. The airport had already set up, glued or assembled almost all of it anyway. "They were amazed at how fast and good we were."

With the official seal, passengers should be able to rely on a high standard of protection against the corona virus.

According to its own information, the airport is the fourth German airport with this certification - after Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin.

Currently, around 36 planes take off and land at the airport each day.

Before Corona, there were around 200 take-offs and 200 landings on a comparable day in April.

The number of passengers is even lower.

The airport currently only counts around ten percent of the usual passengers every day.
