Aurich (dpa / lni) - After the premature vaccination of a clinic boss of several hospitals in East Frisia, an investigation comes to the conclusion that there is no offense due to taking advantage.

This emerges from an expert opinion that a contracted lawyer presented to the supervisory board and the shareholders' meeting of the supporting company of the Aurich-Emden-Norden clinics on Thursday, as the district of Aurich announced after the meeting.

Like other administrative employees, the managing director of the clinic network had himself vaccinated against Covid-19 in January, although the clinic's nurses and doctors would actually have been more entitled according to the vaccination ordinance. The incident had caused public outrage. The head of the clinic then apologized. In the meantime, the equal district council in Aurich and the city of Emden had not reached an agreement on exempting the boss.

According to the report, the vaccination of the managing director was illegal according to the vaccination rules applicable at the time.

However, there is no evidence that he initiated his vaccination himself or that he accepted it against better knowledge, said the district administration.

The accusation of taking advantage therefore does not apply to the clinic boss any more than it does to other senior administrative employees who have been unlawfully vaccinated.

«Our decision to hire a neutral and independent expert to investigate was the right way to clear up the rumors that were circulating.

This goal was achieved with the report », announced the Mayor of Emden, Tim Kruithoff, as chairman of the supervisory board, and his deputy, Aurich District Administrator Olaf Meinen (both non-party).
