Five and a half weeks before the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt on June 6, a new survey sees the CDU of Prime Minister and top candidate Reiner Haseloff still in the lead.

In the survey by the Insa Institute for the “Bild” newspaper on Thursday, the Christian Democrats achieved 26 percent - almost four points less than in the 2016 election. The AfD follows in second place with a stable 24 percent.

The left is seen with a minus of three points at 13 percent.

The Greens can more than double to twelve percent, the SPD is almost unchanged at ten percent.

With six percent, the FDP could succeed in returning to the Magdeburg state parliament after ten years.

The ruling Kenya coalition of CDU, SPD and Greens would still have a majority.

Forsa surveyed 1,042 eligible voters in Saxony-Anhalt from April 20 to 27.

A few days ago, the Infratest dimap institute determined a larger gap between the CDU with 27 percent and the AfD with 20 percent for Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk.

Here the SPD and the Left got twelve percent, while the Greens got eleven percent and the FDP eight percent.
