Gera / Neustadt an der Orla (dpa) - In the process of the violent death of an early 30-year-old from Neustadt an der Orla, a verdict is to be pronounced today.
Her 43-year-old partner has had to answer to the Gera regional court in Thuringia since the end of March because, according to the public prosecutor, he brutally beat his partner to death in June 2020.
The public prosecutor's office accuses the defendant of murder and dangerous bodily harm.
According to the indictment, the German recognized the woman's life-threatening condition, but only called the emergency services when he could no longer notice his breath or pulse.
On the five previous days of the trial, the court had heard a number of witnesses, including police officers, forensic doctors and relatives of those killed.
