“The embassy emphasizes that these allegations are not true, whatever the so-called 'sources' say,” reads an official comment from the embassy posted on Facebook.

The diplomatic mission clarified that they had not received notifications from the Sudanese side about the suspension of the agreement on the creation of a Russian naval base on the Red Sea in Sudan.

As specified, this agreement comes into force only after its ratification by both parties.

“Since this has not happened yet, all other statements are from the evil one and aim to harm the traditionally friendly relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Sudan, regardless of the foreign policy situation,” the embassy stressed.

Earlier in the media there was information that Sudan suspended the agreement on the creation of a Russian naval base in the Red Sea, and also ruled out the new deployment of the Russian military at the Flamingo naval base.
