Courts Unusual protest of judges in networks: "I turn my back on the parties continuing to reach out to the Judiciary"
Reform The European Commission asks the CGPJ to inform it of the "impact" of the reform that limits its functions
The General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) has rejected the most direct ways to fight in the Constitutional Court against the reform that limits its functions when its mandate has expired without its renewal.
The Plenary of the Council has rejected this Wednesday by 13 votes compared to eight the two options that several members had raised: present a conflict of attributions before the TC or urge the
Ombudsman
to present an appeal of unconstitutionality.
The two options had been taken to an extraordinary plenary session that was to be held before Friday, when a period of one month expired to activate the conflict of attributions procedure.
Apart from the eight members who supported him, other members of the Council highlighted the great technical difficulties involved in using the conflict of attributions route.
