"The Russian Embassy in Latvia did not receive information about Russian citizens who suffered as a result of the fire in Riga on Merkel Street," the diplomatic mission quoted TASS as saying.
On April 28, it was reported that as a result of a strong fire in a hostel in the center of Riga, eight people were killed, another nine were injured.
Riga Mayor Martins Stakis said that the fire broke out in the premises of the hostel, where most of the guests are foreigners.
