Soon no need to ask the driver for change or to prepare his coins to buy a TCL ticket on board Lyon buses.

Sytral will set up a new ticketing system: “open payment”.

In other words, contactless payment.

A total of 4,000 validators will be gradually installed in the city's buses and trams, then in the metro stations.

This new system, which will cost Sytral 18 million euros, will allow occasional travelers to use their contactless payment card as a ticket.

"This will save time and increase fluidity", indicates the manager of public transport in Lyon.

Its commissioning is scheduled for next fall.

This is a first step.

Magnetic tickets should disappear in 2022, in favor of “rechargeable contactless tickets”.
