One of its promises concerned the fight against the Coronavirus epidemic, in particular through mass vaccination.

In front of the Javits Center transformed into a mass vaccination center, the long queues of just three weeks ago have disappeared.

“

When I came for my first vaccine, it was full, it was going fast, but there were a lot more people,

” says Chris.

Like him, more than 6 million New Yorkers have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

And from today, vaccination is open to all without exception and without making an appointment.

 It's like a well-oiled machine,”

said a woman.

Very peaceful, very well organized.

I am just very happy and grateful

.

"

 There is no chaos,"

continues a man.

It's better organized than at the airport!

 "

This massive vaccination was one of Joe Biden's promises.

The president had set a goal: 100 million vaccines administered during his first 100 days in the White House.

We are now at more than 200 million.

“

Initially, I wasn't expecting much in terms of the speed of vaccination,”

says another New Yorker.

I thought people my age wouldn't get vaccinated until summer or fall.

I was pleasantly surprised.

 "

“

I think he succeeded not only in keeping his vaccination promise, but he also brought a sense of calm,

” says one man.

Joe Biden has set another goal in terms of fighting this pandemic.

He hopes that life will return to a semblance of normal by July 4, the national holiday.
