"Today, at a meeting of the contact group, the Kiev side blocked Russia's proposals on specific mechanisms to prevent violations of the ceasefire between Ukraine and Donbass," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to Gryzlov, instead of discussing practical steps, Kiev is building "confusing legal constructions" to refuse to recognize Donbass as a party to the conflict.

“In fact, for the sake of observing the far-fetched red lines that directly contradict the Minsk agreements, Kiev sacrifices the safety and lives of people in the south-east of Ukraine,” the Russian plenipotentiary said.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the team of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is "wriggling as best it can", trying to turn the Minsk agreements "upside down", and the West does not react to this and demonstrates complete helplessness.
