Remscheid (dpa / lnw) - The escaped giant sea eagle Grobi from Remscheid may be in Austria.

Several people took photos of a giant sea eagle there, said the falconer Carola Schossow from Remscheid on Wednesday.

The «Bild» newspaper had previously reported.

It is still unclear whether it is really about "Grobi".

"The last two weeks were so mega good in terms of thermals, it really just had to slide," said Schossow.

In this respect, it could be that he made it to Austria.

A falconer is now trying to catch him.

The fact that the giant sea eagle in Austria is apparently looking for closeness to people could be an indication that it could really be Grobi.

It got its name from Grobi on Sesame Street.

One can only speculate about the reasons for Grobi's departure from Germany, said Schossow.

The only thing that is certain is that he was attacked by crows.

Maybe he was scared that he was rather scared.

The six-year-old eagle has a wingspan of 2.50 meters.
