Waiblingen (dpa / lsw) - Because of the alleged trade in marijuana and ecstasy, the police arrested suspects from refugee shelters.

As the police announced on Wednesday, relevant facilities in the Rems-Murr and Ostalb districts as well as in Stuttgart and Leonberg were searched.

Investigators discovered several suspects as well as marijuana and ecstasy.

The police were initially unable to give a specific indication of the amount of narcotics detected, as a spokesman for the authorities said.

There was an arrest warrant against five refugees on suspicion of illicit drug trafficking, as reported by the Stuttgart public prosecutor and Aalen police headquarters.

Four of the five suspects against whom there is an arrest warrant were brought before a judge at the Stuttgart District Court.

He had executed the arrest warrants against one Somali and three Gambian nationals.

They were taken to a correctional facility, the authorities said.

Another arrested man had to be admitted to a clinic because of an illness.

The investigators had come on the trail of the alleged dealers after investigations by the criminal police in Waiblingen in the drug scene.
