According to the spokesperson for the Transitional Military Council, General Azem Bermandoa, it was slippages attributable to the demonstrators that caused the overflows.

Different civil society organizations, the democratic opposition defied the ban on the demonstration ordered by the Ministry of Public Security and Immigration. This so-called peaceful demonstration paradoxically resulted in the voluntary destruction of 15 national police vehicles as well as two stations belonging to the company Total. In addition, there are intentional assaults and injuries to law enforcement officers on a mission. A retired policewoman was pulled from a public transport vehicle to be lynched.

The Transitional Military Council asks the strike leaders to reframe their sympathizers and activists so that the march takes place in a purely peaceful setting.

Subject to confirmation of the exact number of victims by the Ndjamena district prosecutor's office, the CMT deplores six victims and at the same time offers condolences to the grieving families.

A judicial investigation is underway so that the various responsibilities are criminally located.
