Hanover (AP) - At a recycling yard on the outskirts of Hanover, a warehouse caught fire on Tuesday evening and then burned all night.

As a police spokesman announced on Wednesday morning, the fire brigade let the building burn down in a controlled manner.

In the 50 by 50 meter hall, shredded plastic parts burned for an initially unknown cause.

The fire created dark smoke that rolled over the city on Tuesday evening.

According to the police, there was no danger to the population at any time.

The amount of damage is estimated at millions.

Nobody got hurt.
