Neustrelitz (dpa / mv) - With a special dance and theater project, a new cultural site will be put into operation this Saturday in Neustrelitz (Mecklenburg Lake District).

Under the title "O der Verstand" actors from the theater and the German dance company bring a play by the poet Heinrich von Kleist (1777-1811) to the stage.

This is Kleist's essay “About the Marionette Theater”.

It is about natural grace and the influence that consciousness and self-reflection have on it.

Because of the Corona situation, the premiere had to take place without an audience, but would be broadcast via the Internet, according to the Alte Kachelofenfabrik cultural center, the operator of the new cultural site.

For the modern version of the piece, the Neustrelitz “Laboratory for Performing Arts and Digitality” was also included in the development of the performance.

The new cultural site is an approximately 200-year-old barn, which has an area of 240 square meters and has been restored over the years.

It is located next to the cultural center of the old tiled stove factory, which has won several awards for its program.
