The year before the Swedish Customs left Gävle, a large seizure of cigarettes was made in the port of Stugsund in Söderhamn municipality.

Between 28 and 29 million cigarettes were found in specially built wooden boxes.

- Then they thought it was our salvation, says Sven Söderström, who started working at the Swedish Customs in 1966.

Instead, the office was closed down and staff would start going to Gävle from Stockholm and Sundsvall to do checks.
