The former Federal Defense Minister and today's entrepreneur Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg (CSU) may have given false information to the Wirecard investigative committee.

That shows a WELT research.

Accordingly, Guttenberg had spoken out against financial speculators in a newspaper article in spring 2020 - allegedly without consulting Wirecard.

But now it is clear that Guttenberg and the company were in close contact in advance. Guttenberg and the PR agency Edelman are threatened with a formal reprimand from the German Council for Public Relations, the industry's self-regulatory body. Edelman had done PR work for Wirecard in 2020 and worked together with Guttenberg.
