"US Coast Guard patrol boat Hamilton has begun sailing north for passage into the Black Sea after working with USS Roosevelt in the Aegean Sea," the Navy said on Twitter.

The vessel will "work with NATO allies and partners in the region."

On April 17, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby announced that United States ships would continue to enter the Black Sea.

Since April 24, Russia has closed access to parts of the Black Sea for foreign warships and government ships.

This measure will be valid until October 31.
