Behind the work is the Dutch artist Geert vad der Vossen.

Between April and November last year, he put out his iron flowers at his home in Broddetorp in Skaraborg.

SVT Nyheter Väst has previously reported that the flowers would be moved to Gothenburg, but exactly where has been secret.

Until now.

End up on a barge

It is now clear that the artwork will be a part of Gothenburg's 400th anniversary celebrations.

From 28 May to 15 November, it will be on a barge in the Stora Hamnkanalen by the German Bridge.

- It gives me an opportunity to show the work to a larger audience, and to also give space to those who died after the work was completed, says Geert van der Vossen, in a press release.

Forms a Swedish flag

The iron flowers, together with the printed flowers, will be put together in the shape of a Swedish flag.

The iron flowers will stand on the blue fields and the printed flowers on the yellow parts.

- We have lived with the Corona pandemic for over a year now and this work of art reflects part of what we are experiencing in our time and honors those affected, says Therese Brusberg, head of Gothenburg's 400th anniversary at Göteborg & Co.
