Munich (dpa / lby) - In Bavaria, journalists with higher priority should also receive the corona vaccination in May.
The Ministry of Health announced this on Monday.
Media employees could presumably register for a vaccination from this Thursday.
The Free State assigned the journalists to the group of representatives of a so-called critical infrastructure.
Employees of such institutions are of fundamental importance for the state community.
The prioritization affects all employees of radio and television stations as well as of print media and online media.
The Bavarian Journalists' Association had demanded that representatives of the press, like employees in other industries, be vaccinated as a matter of priority, because media employees have a lot of contact with other people at work.
Discussions are currently underway about lifting the previous vaccination prioritization completely in June and then offering vaccination appointments to all interested parties.
