Berlin (dpa / bb) - Arsonists set a car on fire in Hellersdorf.

The car burned out completely, as the police in Berlin announced on Tuesday.

A passer-by noticed two men at the car in a parking lot on Auerbacher Ring at 6 p.m. on Monday evening.

The two alleged perpetrators are said to have poured a liquid over the car and set it on fire.

Subsequently, the duo is said to have fled in the direction of the Cottbusser Platz underground station.

Residents alerted the fire brigade, which put out the flames.

No one was injured, according to the police.

The State Criminal Police Office then took over the investigation.
