Wismar / Hagenow / Rostock / Waren (dpa / mv) - A few days after the tightening of the Federal Infection Protection Act, around 600 people in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania protested against restrictions in connection with the corona pandemic.

As police spokesman explained on Tuesday, there were so-called protest walks and rallies on Monday evening in Wismar, Hagenow, Rostock, Teterow, Neubrandenburg, Stralsund, Greifswald and in Waren an der Müritz.

According to the police, most of the participants came in Wismar with 160 and around 150 in Hagenow, where there was also a counter-action with 40 participants.

Around 50 demonstrators each were counted in Neubrandenburg and Waren.

In Wismar, banners read «Peace-Freedom-Fundamental Rights.

You are not alone! "

or in Hagenow "Mecklenburg stands up".

Five different events were registered in Rostock alone.

With the exception of a few violations of the mask requirement, no abnormalities were found in any of the actions, it said.

In the northeast, the incidence on Monday was 135.3 new infections registered per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days, a little less than a week ago, as the state health department announced.
