The Associated Press reported that the World Health Organization (WHO) provided supplies and manpower to India, where the number of corona19 confirmed cases is rapidly increasing.
In a video press briefing, WHO Secretary-General Thewardros Adhanom Governor Yeosus said India's number of new cases was the highest every day "more than heartbreaking."
He said it has relocated more than 2,000 employees locally, delivering thousands of portable oxygen machines and pre-built mobile field hospitals.
He also expressed concern that the number of corona19 confirmed and deaths increased for 9 and 6 consecutive weeks, respectively, and that "last week global cases were as high as (reported numbers) in the first 5 months of the pandemic (a global pandemic)."
