Ehingen (dpa / lsw) - With a pilot project at the crane manufacturer Liebherr in Ehingen (Alb-Donau district), the first corona vaccinations have started with company doctors in the southwest.

Health Minister Manne Lucha (Greens) will visit the vaccination center on the company premises this afternoon (3 p.m.).

The first vaccinations for the over 60-year-old employees at the plant began on Monday.

For Monday and Tuesday of this week, Liebherr will initially have 200 vaccine doses from the state's contingent, according to a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Of the approximately 4,000 employees, around 2,500 have already expressed their interest in a vaccination, said a company spokesman.

However, initially only those over 60 are vaccinated.

The prioritization also applies here.

The state recently announced that it would also include company doctors in the vaccinations from the summer and test the process beforehand in model projects.
