Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea, the referee of the Liga Sevilla-Granada match, stood out on Sunday: after whistling the end of the debates, he, after protests from players from Granada, backed down by asking the actors to return play a minute of play that he had forgotten.

The score is 2-1 in favor of Sevilla when the referee whistles the end of the match.

Several Granada players then approached him to tell him that at the time of his final whistle there was still one minute of added time to play.

Several minutes go by, some Sevilla players have already removed their shirts and shin guards.

They have even, for some, returned to the locker rooms.

The referee decides to bring the 22 footballers back to play the remaining minute.

Without consequence on the score, which will remain 2-1 for Sevilla.

"We all make mistakes"

The players and coaches did not hold it against the referee for his blunder.

"The referee whistled the end of the match because he thought the time was up, and then he came to tell us that he had made a mistake," Sevillian striker Lucas Ocampos said after the meeting.

"It was over, we had already taken off our outfits, I've never seen anything like it."

“It was a strange, very confusing situation.

But it happens, we all make mistakes, ”Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui said, without throwing stones at the referee.

"They make mistakes like we all do, and he did his best to correct it," Granada coach Diego Martinez added.
