“The investigation of the criminal case against the chief physician of the state healthcare institution“ Regional Clinical Hospital ”of the Trans-Baikal Territory Viktor Shalnev has been completed,” the statement said.
It is noted that the doctor is accused of taking a bribe on an especially large scale (over 13 million rubles).
Investigators added that Shalnev used his official position and received money "for the smooth conclusion of contracts for the supply of medical equipment."
In January, the Investigative Committee reported that the former Minister of Health of the Omsk Region, Irina Soldatova, was suspected of exceeding her powers with serious consequences.
