After Cameron Bernstein finished her studies, she started sharing videos on social media where she talks about Yiddish.
During the pandemic, her hobby became increasingly important to her.
- I have met people around the world through this, and above all found fellowship with others with whom I can speak Yiddish.
Yiddish has been spoken in Cameron's family for previous generations, but she herself had no contact with the language before she began studying the language at university.
There she learned about the language's status as a national minority language in Sweden.
- We saw a children's program that was very well produced, and then I heard that the state subsidizes media production in Yiddish in Sweden.
Soon she also found out about a publisher in Lund, which publishes children's literature in Yiddish, and that they would soon publish the first book about Harry Potter.
