Berlin (dpa) - Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder also wants more speed with vaccinations by lifting the corona vaccination priorities earlier.

By including doctors and more flexible vaccination rules, "we believe that we can significantly increase and accelerate the speed of vaccination and thus a stronger effect in the fight against the pandemic," said the CSU chief on Monday after the federal and state vaccination summit in Berlin.

After the emergency brake to prevent the greatest damage caused by the pandemic, it now needs “full throttle for vaccination”.

The aim of the vaccination campaign - so Söder further - must be, in addition to lowering the mortality rate, that more mobility and the return of civil liberties would also be possible.

It is an “absurd debate” if, for example, people who have been vaccinated twice continue to be required to have a negative corona test or if they have to be subject to the same quarantine rules as those who have not been vaccinated.

"This does not result in any entitlement to open institutions," said Söder, giving swimming pool visits as an example.

In the area of fundamental rights, however, it is important to facilitate relief, this also leads to the population seeing that “vaccinating is worthwhile”.
