Plau / Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Seasonal traffic on the southern line between Plau and Hagenow (Ludwigslust-Parchim) will also be postponed in 2021.

The reason for this is the corona restrictions, as the Schwerin Ministry of Transport announced on Monday.

Instead of the beginning of May, the trains should not start running until May 11th at the earliest, according to previous planning.

Three pairs of trains are planned between Hagenow, Ludwigslust, Parchim and Plau am See on weekends and public holidays.

In Hagenow Land there is a connection to the trains to Hamburg, in Parchim there will be connecting trains to Schwerin.

The state government, the districts of Mecklenburgische Seenplatte and Ludwigslust-Parchim as well as the company Regio Infra Nord-Ost had agreed at the end of 2019 to keep the route threatened by the closure for tourist seasonal traffic for the time being.

Connecting trains to Karow in the direction of Malchow and Waren as well as to Pritzwalk (Brandenburg) are also planned.
