Potsdam (dpa / bb) - In Brandenburg, more than 100,000 corona infections have been officially confirmed since March last year.

Most recently, 279 new cases were added within one day, as the Ministry of Health announced in Potsdam on Monday.

A week ago there were 290 new infections, on Sunday 365. The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days rose slightly for the whole of Brandenburg from around 126 to almost 128.

The Spree-Neisse district has the highest seven-day incidence with 227, followed by Cottbus and Frankfurt (Oder) with around 177 each. If the value is above 165 on three consecutive days, all schools must close on the day after next. This is already the case in Cottbus, Spree-Neisse and Oder-Spree, even if Oder-Spree has been below 165 for several days. The new rule from the federal emergency brake applies until the value falls below 165 on five working days in a row. The Elbe-Elster and Oberspreewald-Lausitz districts have a value between 150 and 165.

Nine districts as well as the cities of Potsdam and Brandenburg / Havel have incidence values between 100 and 150. There, shopping with a negative corona test and an appointment is possible.

Two districts - Barnim and Potsdam-Mittelmark - have a seven-day incidence of less than 100. In Potsdam-Mittelmark, however, the exit restrictions apply from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. after the new federal emergency brake - with the exception of jogging and walking until midnight - because the district had incidence values above 100 two days before it came into force.
