China Overseas Chinese Network, April 27th. According to the US "World Journal" report, in order to stop the root cause of racial discrimination from continuing to the next generation, on April 26, more than 2500 Asian parents in New York jointly signed a letter to New York Mayor Bai Si Porter, the director of education of Haohe City, put forward three requirements including teaching Asian-American history in public schools and celebrating Asian-Pacific Tradition Month, in order to solve the discrimination and prejudice that Asian students have suffered for a long time.

The joint letter wrote that the anti-Asian attack case highlighted the child’s inadequate education in the history of Asian Americans, and education is one of the best antidote to racism. Relevant units should require immediate promotion of including Asian history and history. The curriculum, including culture, takes root from an early age to fundamentally change the current situation.

As for how to start with education and solve the discrimination and prejudice that Asian students have suffered for a long time, the co-signed parents put forward three suggestions: teach children about Asian history in public schools; organize a series of activities every year to celebrate Asian-Pacific American Tradition Month; Teach Asian students how to face racism, and teach non-Asian students how to support Asian classmates.
