Berlin (dpa) - Berlin's governing mayor, Michael Müller, expects difficulties with controls if vaccinated people get more freedom in the future.

"We will then have situations in which people are out on the streets in the evening who go to work or come from work," said the current chairman of the Prime Minister's Conference on Monday after the federal and state vaccination summit.

"And we will have some who can move around the streets and go for walks because they are vaccinated."

But there will also be some who are on the road for no good reason.

"It will not be easy to deal with the situation, and that may not be completely reversed," said the SPD politician.

Müller is hoping for the digital proof of vaccination in late spring.

"If we know at the end of May or beginning of June how the deliberations in the Bundestag and Bundesrat went with the corresponding ordinance, then hopefully shortly afterwards the digital vaccination certificate will be possible," he said.
