Baden-Baden (dpa) - The leasing specialist Grenke, who has been criticized for his accounting, does not expect an audit of his 2020 annual financial statements by the auditor KPMG until mid-May.

The SDax company announced on Monday in Baden-Baden that the attestation is scheduled for May 17, as is evident from a letter to the Grenke supervisory board.

On this Friday (April 30), Grenke wanted to present the figures - as already promised - therefore without a completed audit as provisional figures.

The submission of audit evidence and the provision of the necessary information had essentially taken place - this was confirmed by KPMG in the letter to the supervisory body, according to von Grenke.

This evidence and information is currently still being checked by KPMG.

The Grenke shares went up on the news and recently listed more than seven percent in the plus at 35.96 euros.

After the criticism of business practices and accounting by short sellers, Grenke had commissioned its own investigations and recently saw itself at least partially relieved of a special audit by the Bafin.

The allegation of money laundering was not confirmed, it said in February.

In addition, there are no doubts about the existence of the lease receivables.

The auditors had also come across deficiencies in the house.

They also objected to processes in the Grenke Bank and the compliance organization and criticized the fact that the franchise companies were not fully consolidated.
