Saudi Arabia announced, on Sunday, that one and a half million pilgrims and worshipers will visit the Grand Mosque during the first ten days of the holy month of Ramadan.

And according to the official Saudi Press Agency, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Sanctuaries has dispatched approximately two and a half million worshipers and pilgrims at the Grand Mosque, from the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan until the tenth day of it, in accordance with the precautionary measures for the safety of those visiting the Sacred House of God.

Osama Al-Hujaili, Director of the General Administration for the Crowds and Promotions of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, explained that the Mataf dish has been fully allocated for pilgrims, and the entry and exit process for all has been organized, and paths have been created for the elderly and people with disabilities.

Al-Hujaili called on pilgrims to adhere to the times issued to them by permitting the application of (Umrah), wearing medical masks, and adhering to the physical distance, according to the same source.

And this April, the Saudi Ministry of Interior announced, in a statement, the imposition of a fine on pilgrims and visitors to the Grand Mosque in Mecca without a permit, during the holy month of Ramadan.

The statement stated that a fine of 10,000 riyals (about $ 2,700) was imposed for those caught coming to perform Umrah without a permit in Ramadan, and a thousand riyals (about $ 270) for anyone trying to enter the Holy Mosque of Mecca without permission.

And recently, Saudi Arabia launched the applications (Tawakkalna) and (We Umrah) via mobile phones, on condition that the one who wants to perform Umrah or pray in the Two Holy Mosques confirm that he has received the Corona vaccine through them, to obtain a permit for that, without explaining the duration of this permit.

Last October, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced in a statement, a gradual return to performing Umrah that begins with citizens and residents inside the Kingdom, after a suspension of about 7 months for the outbreak of the Corona virus in the country.

Saudi Arabia has recently witnessed a noticeable increase in the number of infections with the Coronavirus, as, as of Sunday, it recorded a total of 412 thousand and 216 cases, including 6 thousand and 900 deaths, and 395 thousand and 557 cases of recovery.
