Dresden (AP) - Third division soccer team Dynamo Dresden is apparently facing the obligation of a new coach after Markus Kauczinski's dismissal.

According to matching media reports, Alexander Schmidt is the top candidate to succeed Kauczinski, who was on leave on Sunday.

The 52-year-old was a coach at league competitor Türkgücü Munich until February and knows Dynamo's sports director Ralf Becker from common times at VfB Stuttgart.

Becker is looking for a coach who is available immediately and who knows the league.

After the 3-0 draw against Halle on Saturday, Dresden slipped into fourth place and is six points behind front-runner Hansa Rostock.

However, Dynamo has played two fewer games after the latest corona quarantine.

The game against MSV Duisburg will be rescheduled on Wednesday, followed by the game at KFC Uerdingen on Saturday.
