Stendal (dpa / sa) - The AfD member of the state parliament Ulrich Siegmund and two of his election workers were attacked by two men on Sunday.
Siegmund suffered bruises from punches, the police said on Monday.
The alleged perpetrators, aged 22 and 26, attacked the three men from an ambush, according to Siegmund.
The politician spoke of two alleged left violent criminals.
The police were initially unable to confirm the political background of the attack.
According to the officials, the two men are known to the police.
