Heringsdorf (dpa / mv) - In the course of the two vaccination campaigns against the coronavirus on Saturday, people in Western Pomerania-Greifswald were vaccinated with more than 1200 doses, according to the district.

In the Ostseetherme in Heringsdorf 575 vaccinations were given and in Torgelow about 650, said district spokesman Achim Froitzheim on Sunday.

Regardless of any prioritization and without an appointment, people aged 18 and over could be vaccinated with the Astrazeneca serum.

The campaign in Torgelow was organized with the HaffNet medical association.

Its managing director had previously said that there were more than 2000 cans available.

According to Froitzheim, the medical association will most likely carry out another vaccination campaign next weekend.

In other districts, too, there had been vaccination campaigns in the past few days, sometimes with and sometimes without a previous appointment.

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, all age groups have been able to be vaccinated with the Astrazeneca vaccine for a few days, regardless of their prioritization.

For people under 60 years of age, however, detailed advice from the vaccinator is necessary before the injection.
