Kiel (dpa / lno) - The SPD in Schleswig-Holstein re-elected its state chairman Serpil Midyatli on Sunday with around 89 percent of the vote.

211 of 222 voting delegates at a state party congress took part in the ballot box on Sunday.

Of these, 187 voted for Midyatli.

She had already received 89 percent of an online vote on Saturday.

When she was elected to succeed Ralf Stegner, who has been chairman of the state for many years, two years ago, she won 90.1 percent.

The other members of the narrow party leadership were confirmed in their offices.

Like Midyatli, they had already received clear approval in a digital vote on Saturday.

Since the statutes do not provide for digital elections, a ballot box election followed on Sunday, in which the delegates could cast their votes in six cities.
