Mainz / Ludwigshafen (dpa / lrs) - On the first weekend after the Infection Protection Act came into force, the police in Rhineland-Palatinate did not report any major violations of corona rules.

"People have kept to it," said a police spokesman in Mainz on Sunday.

It sounded similar at the praesidia in Trier, Koblenz, Ludwigshafen and Kaiserslautern.

There was a smaller operation on Sunday night at a pond in Ludwigshafen.

A group of five wanted to camp there.

According to the police, they pointed out the current regulation.

As a result, the "rather unrepentant group" finally packed their things.

Corresponding complaints were initiated because of the violation of the curfew.

Since the nationwide Infection Protection Act came into force, exit restrictions have been in effect between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. if the so-called seven-day incidence in a city or district - i.e. infections within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants - is over 100 on three consecutive days.

Walking or jogging alone is allowed until midnight.
