Berlin (dpa) - CDU chancellor candidate Armin Laschet wants to grant vaccinated citizens the same rights as Covid 19 patients who have tested negative and who have already recovered.

"I am concerned with equality between those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered with those who have tested negative," said the North Rhine-Westphalian Prime Minister of the "Süddeutsche Zeitung" (Monday) before the federal and state vaccination summit.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, vaccinated and convalescent people are less infectious than people who tested negative.

It is therefore "legally required that vaccinated people have the same rights as those who have been tested".

Laschet also called, in view of the increasing quantities of vaccines, to «open the vaccination system for everyone» and «by June at the latest, the prioritization» of certain groups to be lifted during vaccination.

The CDU chairman criticized Germany “did not shine as an organizational world champion at the beginning”.

In the meantime, however, it has become clear: "We are learning quickly, we are adapting things and are now showing how the vaccination turbo works."

Every person willing to vaccinate should be given a vaccination offer before the federal election.

"In any case, I will be judged on my responsibility."
