Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The Hamburg FDP met on Sunday for a largely online party congress to redefine the state executive.

The previous state chairman, member of the Bundestag Katja Suding, had already announced last year that she would no longer be available.

Former MPs Michael Kruse and Daniel Oetzel have applied for her successor.

Kruse was also chosen as the top candidate of the Hamburg FDP for the federal election on Saturday.

The former federal chairman of the Young Liberals, Ria Schröder, came in second, which is also promising, while digital entrepreneur and economics professor Andreas Moring came in third.
