Helmstedt (dpa / lni) - With 2.43 per mille of alcohol in the blood, a 35-year-old with his family was in the car in Helmstedt.

The police stopped the vehicle on Saturday.

The wife and three children aged three to eleven were also sitting in the car, the police said on Sunday.

The man is already known to the officers, so they stopped the vehicle.

The father did not agree to have his driver's license secured and the police had to confiscate it.

The 35-year-old is now awaiting criminal proceedings for drunk driving.
